Summary: It is A.D. 117 and the Roman garrisons are struggling to contain the Picts, the Celtic inhabitants of the Scottish Highlands. He aware to the fact, though, that he is a clumsy fat guy, while she is a young gorgeous lady. This makes his depressed, but just until he finds the solution for his problem. He decides to drink a potion which he invented himself in his lab. The potion makes him look very good, and behave romantically. The new him, named Buddy Love, is the perfect solution for Klump, in his opinion. But is that what Carla really wants?

In 1972, living 11-year-old Li Cunxin (Huang Wenbin) with his parents, Niang (Joan Chen) and Slide (Wang Shuangbao) and six brothers and sisters while attending school in a dilapidated Shandog province. Li’s life changes when visiting are the representatives of Madame Mao’s Beijing Dance Academy, a school, and he is a promising adopted by many students as dancers. While life is hard for Li to the school and many of the teachers are hard and unforgiving, takes Chan (Zhang Su) the boys under his wing and groom him one of the stars of the students. In 1981, Li (now played by Chi Cao) selected to travel to the United States as part of an exchange with students from the Houston Ballet Company.
Under the direction of Ben Stevenson (Bruce Greenwood), Director of the company, Li impress his colleagues and gets a lead role in a TV production of “Die Fledermaus”, despite an attack of stage fright, Li’s performance is a triumph. Li came to life as the love in the United States, he is also in love with an attractive young dancer, Elizabeth (Amanda Schull), and when his time in America to an end, he made the decision to his old life behind and to live, personal and creative freedom in America

Plot:
Drama about airline pilot who is married to two separate women in separate towns and who eventually takes on a third wife. Much to his dismay, the separate worlds he lives in begin to collide, and the truth of his womanizing and bigamy begin to come to light.
Let’s say I had a strong sensation of a “deja vu”, when seeing this movie, Year One.
Jack Black and Michael Cera or, as they appear in the movie, Zed and Oh, are two not very bright primitive people who get banished from thei village after Zed bites the forbidden fruit. Yes, it sounds familiar, right? Right. We’ll meet a lot of other “famous” people for anyone who’s bothered read the Bible and find out about the events back then. We witness the murder of Abel, see Sodoma and Gomora, find out about the first circumcision.
Even if the comedy doesn’t make you laugh as others used to (I do believe people seem to have lost their humor, or maybe I’m the one who’s getting old, who knows), it does have it’s charm. There were scenes that were very funny, especially if you knew what to expect.
So, even if this won’t ever be in my top 5 comedy list, I do believe it’s worth a shot. Please let me know how if you liked it
